UnConference will be held May 24-May 26, 2010

There are only 18 Intentional Community spots open for you to gather with your sisters and brothers in “The Cottages.”  The cost for this is $220 per person.

“The Cottages” offer a wonderful space providing the peace and opportunity for community that is so beneficial to productive group activities and meetings. Each handicapped-accessible cottage welcomes you from a covered front porch into a group meeting area. This centrally located space is large enough to seat approximately 35 people theatre-style.

Each cottage sleeps 18 people in 2 separate “dorm” areas (one located on either side of the cottage). Each area has 9 bunk-style beds (known as the “Sutter Bunks”) and a multi-person bathroom with 2 showers, 2 commode stalls, and 3 sinks.

The small front porch on larger deck on the back of the cottages allow for additional places for fellowship.

Meals, worship, concert and fellowship events are included.

You may also bunk at “The Inn.”

What’s up with this UnConference?

January 19, 2010

The UnConference is MAY 24-26, 2010!

For those of us who would like to know that their time’s not going to be totally wasted, we have an agenda. If you’d like something added, please let us know in the comments.

MONDAY

12:00 p.m. God Complex Radio/HCX on location.

Carol Howard Merritt (GCR) and Ryan Kemp-Pappan (HCX) will be at Meadowkirk, recording for their podcasts.

2:15 p.m.  Arrival and Chili Preparation

If you are interested in being a part of the chili cook-off, then you can put together a big steamy, batch of beans for us. We will have ingredients so that you can prepare your own chili. Just let us know if you want something out of the ordinary.

5:00 p.m. Gathering Time

This will be a chance to meet those blog and twitter friends IRL.

We’ll also introduce the Graffiti board where you can answer, “What is our vision for what the church will look like for the future?” You can add to the board throughout our time together.

This will also be a chance for you to tell us what you’ve brought for the conference. If you can paint, then you can teach us how to paint. If you can collage, you can show the rest of us. If you write beautiful liturgy, you can share your techniques. Whatever your gift might be, you can contribute it to the rest of the body.

During the conference, there will be a chance for you to meet with a Spiritual Director. You can sign up at the Gathering.

6:00 p.m. Chili Cook Off

We will get a sample of each batch of chili, and a chance to crown the Chili King or Queen of the UnConference. We will also have a chance to sample beer and wine, made by participants? Can you craft a great beverage? Be sure to bring a case with you.

8:00 p.m. Bonfire
